HIGHRISE/ONE MILLIONth TOWER on the TTC, developed by curator Sharon Switzer, presents the beautifully imagined transformation of a rundown Toronto high-rise tower, with landscapes inspired by its inhabitants. This twofold art installation of videos and subway platform posters, is a site-specific version of the NFB's HIGHRISE project, directed by Katerina Cizek, a multi-year, multi-media, collaborative documentary experiment about the human experience in global vertical suburbs.
A series of specially designed subway platform posters can be viewed in 59 stations, and 30-second animated videos that play every 10 minutes all day on the entire network of Pattison Onestop screens.
