An evening filled with great films, great door prizes and a great opportunity to celebrate the paddling community here and around the world.

The Complete Paddler is honored to host the premier of Rapid Media's 5th Annual "Reel Paddling Film Festival."


The Complete Paddler will be donating 100% of the proceeds from this event to Project C.A.N.O.E. and Kayak for a Cure.

So get down to the Bloor Cinema, Feb 11, 2010 for an evening filled with great films, great door prizes and a great opportunity to celebrate the paddling community here and around the world.

Cost: $12.00 in advance or $15.00 at the door.
Time: Doors open at 6:30pm and films start at 7:00pm, ending at 10:30pm (with a 30 min intermission)

With 37 inspiring paddling films short-listed for the World Tour, including the nine festival category winners, audiences can expect to see hairy whitewater action, sea kayakers exploring remote coastlines, coast-to-coast canoe expeditions, international river travel films, motivating environmental documentaries, grueling kayak fishing battles and hilarious short films capturing the lighter side of paddling life.

Audiences can expect to see these great films: Paddle to Seattle, where in homemade wooden boats, J.J. Kelly and Josh Thomas kayak the 1,300-mile Inside Passage from Alaska to Seattle; In Finding Farley Karsten Heuer and Leanne Allison, along with their two-year old son, set out on a 5000 km trip trekking, sailing, portaging and paddling from the Prairies to the Maritimes to retrace the literary footsteps of legendary author Farley Mowat; This is Canoeing is a celebration of canoeing, showcasing some of the single blades most talented paddlers, wilderness explorers and those challenging whitewater; Facing East is the final descent of kayakers and explorers down the mighty Yangtze River before it is completely underwater and transformed into massive reservoirs; Call of the River traces whitewater's history with as many twists and turns as the canyons its pioneers explored.
